With summer upon us, so is house hunting season.

Here are 10 common real estate “code words” and what they often really mean:

  1. “Cozy” – Small or cramped.
  2. “Charming” – Old, possibly outdated, but with character.
  3. “Up-and-coming neighborhood” – Not great now, but there’s hope.
  4. “Needs TLC” – Requires significant repairs or updates.
  5. “Fixer-upper” – You’re going to spend money fixing it.
  6. “Great potential” – Not great now, but maybe you can make it work.
  7. “Motivated seller” – Seller may accept a lower offer.
  8. “Unique layout” – Possibly weird or impractical floor plan.
  9. “Rustic” – Outdated or unfinished, especially in rural areas.
  10. “Convenient location” – Likely near a busy street or noisy area.

Think about them while house hunting!
