Spring Break is upon us and Miami Beach, has introduced several new regulations for Spring Break 2025 to ensure Spring Breakers stay away. Their new ad campaign breaks up with Spring Breakers.
Here are the key rules:
- Increased Parking Fees: Non-residents will face a $100 flat parking fee at some city garages during peak weekends above 23rd Street. (March 13–16 and March 20–23).
- Parking Garage Closures: All parking facilities south of 23rd Street will be closed during the peak weekends to manage traffic and crowd control.
- Doubled Towing Rates: Towing fees for non-residents in South Beach will double to $516 during March.
- Restricted Beach Access: Beach entrances on Ocean Drive will be limited to 5th, 10th, and 12th Streets, closing at 6 p.m. Security checkpoints will be in place to prevent prohibited items such as coolers, inflatable devices, tents, and tables from entering the beach.
- Sidewalk Seating Suspension: There will be no sidewalk seating on Ocean Drive from March 14–16 and March 21–23. Those “charming” cafes are a no-go.
- Early Liquor Store Closures: Packaged liquor stores in the South Beach entertainment district are required to close by 8 p.m. during the designated weekends.
- DUI Checkpoints: A DUI sobriety checkpoint will be operational along the 400 block of 5th Street starting at 7 p.m. on March 14–15 and March 21–22. Drink and drive and you are in big trouble. So drinkers, which I guess is everyone – stay away!
- Suspension of Vehicle Rentals: Businesses renting or leasing golf carts, low-speed vehicles, autocycles, motorized scooters, and mopeds will be suspended from operating during the peak weekends.
- Traffic Flow Restrictions: Ocean Drive will have barricades and will only be accessible to vehicles from the most northern available street, with a sole exit at 5th Street on March 6–9, March 13–16, and March 20–23. License plate readers will monitor vehicles on the MacArthur and Julia Tuttle Causeways.
- Enhanced Trolley Service: The city’s free trolley service will operate on an enhanced schedule from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. during the two peak weekends, with additional trolleys running on the South Beach Loops and the Collins Express. timeout.com
